Dr. Zhan received his B.S. degree (1996) and Ph.D. degree (2001) both from Department of Physics, Beijing Normal University, China. From 2001 to 2004, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Computational Science and Temasek Laboratories, National University of Singapore, Singapore. In the period from 2004 to 2006, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Chemical Physics Theory Group, Department of Chemistry, University of Toronto, Canada. In February 2006, he joined the Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, at Wuhan city as a full professor titled with “one-hundred-talents scholarship” of Chinese Academy of Sciences. In March 2015, he joined the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He has published nearly 80 peer-reviewed SCI papers at the international journals of PRL, PRE, Plos one, EPL, Chaos, SIAM, etc, which have been cited over 1000 times. Dr. Zhan carried out research work relating to the complex dynamics of power electronics based power system in School Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
